Award-winning Seattle singer-songwriter Deb Seymour loves hard hats, hates beer & drives an electric car named “Zoe”. A master musical story teller with gravity-defying guitar riffs, Seymour’s song subjects range from miscreant alley cats to heartbreak & home repair manuals. Listeners report being touched by wit and wisdom.
San Francisco native Seymour got her start during her college years in Boulder,CO singing Irish folk songs in the local cafes and coffeehouses. Making her home in Boulder following graduation, she founded the bands Seventh String Celtic Trio and Deb Seymour & Small Talk.She also did a stint as a bluegrass guitarist with the short-lived, but influential all-girl bluegrass band Out Of The Blue, based in Golden, CO.
After getting hooked on the Pacific Northwest after attending the Puget Sound Guitar Workshop in 1986, Seymour evenutally moved to Seattle 1994. She quickly became a regular in the Northwest acousitc music scene, playing local coffeehouses and major festivals such as NW Folklife, the Yakima Folk Festival and the Tumbleweed Music Festival. She was Victory Music News' "Galloping Gossip" music columnist from 2002-2007
Seymour’s influences range from Bonnie Raitt & Christine Lavin to Rush, New Grass Revival and Clive Gregson. She has three CDs out of original music and is a past winner of the Top Five Award in Country Music in the Great American Song Contest. She is also a three-time finalist in the Tumbleweed Songwriting Contest and received an Honorable Mention in the Song of the Year Awards.
When not on stage, Deb works as web designer and is active in the Seattle Electric Vehicle Association.
She also authors an eco-blog "Deb Goes Green: One Woman's Attempt at CO2 Sobriety in an Oil-Addicted World" about ways to live with all the trappings of modern life but without such a heavy carbon footprint.
